The new officers for the 2010-2011 school year will be:  President:  Jennifer Juszkiewicz;  Vice President:  Yuan Kohler;  Secretary:  Linda Murphy;  Treasurer and Membership:  Emily Greenwald;  Historian:  Tony Beison;  Publicity:  Mary SantaPaulo; and Community Service:  Jackie Marshall.

We had a great turn out for the sale and netted approximately $450!!!  Thanks to all you contributed supplies and time to assemble the baskets!

The trip to the Urban Ecology Center on 4/13 was a great day and our time with Lynn Falk was very informative and we learned about many new products…just in time for many of us to use for our spa project for the Materials and Finishes class.  We then toured the building and saw many opportunities for more ecological living from rooftop gardens to composting to dual flush toilets and use of rain water to flush the toilets and water the gardens.  Check out a video of our trip at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuyWNoajMbw

The weekend of 4/16-4/18 was the Kitchen and Bath Expo at McCormick Place.  Many of the Design Students took advantage of the opportunity to tour the expo which is held in Chicago every other year.  Many new and innovative designs from leading manufacturers were on exhibit covering appliances, tile, hardware, flooring, building materials, and more.

The end of year get together is slated for May 12that Pazzo’s in Kenosha at 7PM.   Cost is $10/person and you are invited to bring your “significant other”.  (cost covers the room and hors d’oeuvres and there will be an open bar).

Stay tuned in the next addition for info on the Upcoming Portfolio Show and info on our Graduating Students!
